ABOUT THE 2006 Land Rover LR3
The 2006 Land Rover LR3 is available in V6 ($38,950), SE ($45,450) and HSE ($53,450) trim levels. The V6 is powered by a new 4.0-liter engine, while the SE and HSE feature the Jaguar-developed DOHC 4.4-liter V8 launched with the 2005 models. Trim in the V6 is basic, though Land Rover hasn't stinted on equipment or capabilities, and across the three models, a variety of option packages allow owners to pick exactly the price and trim level they desire, from the most basic to most luxurious.

Safety equipment standard across the line includes four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, and emergency Brake Assist. Seven-seat models come with eight airbags; five-seat models come with six airbags.

All models are equipped with power-adjustable heated exterior mirrors, electronic cruise control, programmable key fob, and 65/35 split folding rear seat. The V6 and SE come standard with 18-inch aluminum wheels and 255/60HR18 mud and snow radial tires. The HSE is equipped with 19-inch aluminum wheels and 255/55HR19 mud and snow radial tires.

The V6 is equipped with an AM/FM audio system with single-disc in-dash CD player and six speakers. The V6 can be upgraded to the SE level with the SE Premium Package ($3,000), including leather seating surfaces, 240-watt Harman/Kardon audio system with steering wheel controls, power tilt/slide front sunroof, second row auxiliary port, and SE badge on rear tailgate.

The SE comes well-equipped with leather, sunroof, a 240-watt Harman Kardon stereo with six-disc in-dash CD player and nine speakers, automatic climate control, power everything, and a long list of the latest safety features.

The HSE has an upgraded 550-watt Harman/Kardon LOGIC7 surround sound stereo audio system with six-disc CD changer and 14 speakers, rear park distance control. Third-row seating is standard on the HSE

The HSE adds On/Off-Road Navigation system with voice-activation, the Lighting Package (bi-Xenon headlights, rain sensing wipers, auto-dimming rear view mirror, Homelink Rear Park Distance control, automatic headlights, and front fog lights), the Rear Seat & Climate Package, and the Personal Telephone Integration system with console cradle and Bluetooth Connectivity. The HSE can be further upgraded with the Luxury Package ($1,750), which includes adaptive front lighting system, cold climate package, and center console cooler box.

The V6 and SE can be further upgraded with the Rear Seat & Climate Package ($2200), which includes second-and third-row fold flat seats, third-row side curtain airbag, third-row map lights and accessory power outlet, rear luggage net, and additional front cup holder, second-row A/C and heating controls, two vents at second-row headliner, two vents at third-row C-pillar and one outlet at the third-row lower level. The Bluetooth cellphone setup is available for the SE.

Options packages available on all models: The Cold Climate Package ($1,050) includes heated front windshield, heated front and second-row seats, and heated windshield washer jets. Heavy-Duty Package ($625) includes a locking rear differential and a full-size spare alloy wheel. Tow Package ($500) includes a Class III receiver hitch and remote-control rear height adjuster.
